On Sept. 16th, Michael Tandler, Raymond Wong and Satohi Numasawa traveled two and a half hours from Tokyo to participate in the Tamagawa Trail Run (20K). 678 of the 900 starters finished the race. Michael was 122nd in 3:02, Raymond was 136th in 3:05 and Satohi was 214th (19th woman) in 3:18.
The temperature was a comfortable 26C and the course was quite fast, easy for running or walking on nice single trails. There were, however, two steep climbs from 1 to 4k and 10 to 13k, which required some hard work (Michael was happy to have his hiking poles for those climbs). Trees covered almost the whole course with shade and there was plenty of fresh water at three drink stations. After the race, they enjoyed relaxing in the Kosuge Onsen next to the finish.
