Yoko Kubo took up the challenge of the Nozawa Trail Festival, a very tough 21K with steep downhills like cliffs. She finished in 4:03:21, good for 32nd among 115 women and 15th in her age group. Yoann Potiron also had a tough time, but made it!
Saturday, the 4th. Mike Trees and Yasuo Hayakawa ran the Altra Time Trial Series 5,000m at the Ajinomoto stadium sub-track. Evening, but still 29°, 80% humidity. Mike managed a 17:20, Yasuo 22:56.
Satohi Numasawa led a group of 13 Nambanners on a 3-day training camp is Sugadaira.
Down in Cebu, Philippines, Thibault Cheytion and Mika Kume did well enough in the 70.3 Triathlon to qualify for next year’s Ironman World Championship in Nice, France. Congratulations!
Sachiyo Harima ran a trail race in Changmai, Thailand, finishing as 5th woman out of 23 and winning 1,000 baht, two shirts and a lovely cloth elephant.
The Hokkaido Marathon was not as hot as it usually is. Colin Hickey ran 3:03:59 to place 128th man and Rika Homma ran a PB of 3:17:44 to place 71st woman. Yuri Kambara and Emmanuel Gomez were also there.
Adam Osbourne placed 2nd in the Malham Show hill race in Yorkshire.
Rui Natsuka was in Finland on the 25th and ran the Helsinki Marathon. She enjoyed views of the harbor and ocean, and finished in 4:08:59.
