LOOKING BACK, LOOKING AHEAD
AUGUST
- Chih Liew competed in the OSJ Itamuro 100K trail race — a grueling test of physical and mental endurance. He somehow completed it in 22hr 32min. I’m sure the Special Forces of any country will accept him if he applies.
- Another tough run was done on the 2nd by Robert Ganter, who traversed the two peaks (1,750m up and down) of the Swissalpine 47K race.
- Bob Poulson traveled across the globe to Portland, Maine for the big (7,000 runners) Beach to Beacon 10K race. He timed 42:36 on a lovely but somewhat hilly course to place 1st in his age group.
- Matt Homes and Rika Homma teamed up for the EarthRun Club 10K in Ueno Park on the 5th, placing 2nd in the Pairs division.
- On the 27th Rui Natsuka enjoyed running in the Fuji Yoshida Half, held in conjunction with the Fire Festival. She completed it in 1:50:48. Teruyuki Minegishi also participated.
- Yoshie Niitsuma ran a cross country race on one of the most famous courses, Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, and finished the 4 mile/6.4k race with a first place in her age group!
